Work period
2024-01 — 2025-01
Platforms
iOS / Android
Technology
Unity · C# · Naninovel · Firebase Database · Bash · Rclone · Cron

Problem

The build exceeded 200 MB. With three stories available, freezes and crashes occurred after 3–4 chapters of a story.

Solution & my contribution

  • Developed custom Naninovel scenario components; integrated sound, animation, analytics and supporting services.
  • Completed a responsive UI redesign and optimized assets and code.
  • Implemented A/B testing and automated story tests.
  • Automated cleanup of outdated CDN content with an AI-assisted Bash script, Rclone and Cron.
  • Built onboarding, Firebase Database promo codes, a daily bonus and favorite stories.
  • Developed Lori Locations, a mini city builder, and rewards for completing and replaying episodes and stories.

Result

Source-reported result: iOS build 41.7 MB; Android build 48.2 MB. Seven stories were added: all 10 stories, with 4–13 chapters each, could be completed in one session without freezes or crashes. These are historical project observations, not a new benchmark.
